Is 495.491 the HAM frequency we’re supposed to set up repeaters for?

its not, this is a joke, folks — BUT HERE’S WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:

440 MHz or 70 cm (local options determine whether inputs are above or below outputs) 442 – 445 (California repeaters start at 440 MHz)

447 – 450 + 5 MHz

– 5 MHz

I know nothing about operating a HAM radio but always wanted to. Im gonna keep this info close until i learn what the fuck it means, and you, yer gonna be a useful soldier when the time comes. Skill swap, Ill trade you carpentry for communications.

Buy a Baofeng to get started and study the test.

I'll trade you welding for carpentry! In the dark times it would probably be easier to find wood and hand tools than it would be to find metal and electricity if things got all post apocalyptic. 😐. The two are very similar, carpentry and welding. I just know I need to brush up on my carpentry skills.

There are multiple guys blasting Alex Jones and Art Bell even 100 watts on gsmr channels. The california FCC doesn't give a fuck. Even the Mexican drug cartels have their own repeaters on marine bands.

Code our own frequency and share to only the freedom fighters. Yes its possible

I don't know brother, but I would choose something not in the UHF frequency, as it is line of sight and would require a ton of repeaters everywhere.

Alternatively, an HF frequency would be better for strategic use, as it is beyond line of sight and is much better for long range comms because it bounces off the ionosphere.

Easy to set up a half wave dipole antenna anywhere, and get signal for hundreds of miles or more depending on conditions, wattage etc.

UHF is great for short range comms or air to ground.

That’s it, you’re on the team! Now get these bitchboxes up and running, and don’t bother any of us with your gobbledegook and knob-jamblin’, we won’t listen or remember anything anyway, we’ll just blame you and bring it to you to fix! Yeah, just order whatever you need and set up wherever you want... but not in here.

/it’s radioMA’AM!

Haha, love it you sound just like a GFC. Hey I'm just feeding you information useful to good Americans who want to talk to eachother.

Otherwise I will remain "apolitical" as my duties require. But I will be watching.

do I need to by a HAM radio? srsly.

Its not a bad idea. Can be a good chunk of change though. If you do, know that you have to have a license to broadcast on HAM. Just listening is fine without a license. If you have the right equipment and decently clear location (tress, my ranges, etc), you CAN reach several states over with a CB setup, also. A CB radio doesn't require a license to operate. Also, CB will get you in touch with truckers, who are pretty much becoming a first line of recon lately. As they go state to state, they can see what's going on from place to place quite frequently. I'd perhaps go with CB first. Simple to set up, also. You can pick up a mobile unit to install in your vehicle at any truck stop. That, and a decent antenna will get you going pretty easily and cheap, at least to start learning. 👍

You mean like the jokes from that lesley neilson movie about the jumbo jet that nearly crashed? Think it was called “top gun” or “con air” or something along those lines, cant remember exactly, it was something to do with airplanes anyway.
