Don't fall for it pede. First we share decimal points, then we fall for the old "metric system" switch, and before we know it we're singing the praises of Chairman Mao.

Fucking communist numbering systems.

The length of a mile is a beautiful unit of measure. It is divisible by 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, and 12. Need a third of a mile? 1760 feet. Metric is horrible for practical use by everyday people.

Fluid volume and weight is easy: i fluid ounce of water weights one ounce. 16 ounces (easily divided into half, quarters, and eights) of water weighs one pound. As the Brits always said, "A pint's a pound the world around."

Acres are also cool: 43,560 square feet is an acre, and a square mile has 640 acres in it, which is easily divided into equal plots as you divide farmland and such. An acre is divisible by 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, and 12, so creating sub-acre plots is also easy.

imperial is better than metric for regular people

metric is good for academics because u can just move over the decimal point

imperial is good for regular people who engage in small scale mental math because u can third, halve, and quarter with extreme ease. imperial is essentially base 12 while metric is base 10.

base 12 > base 10 for normal everyday life. sorry euronerds

Pro tip, you can also use halves in metric. LMFAO.

Half a meter, a liter, a centimetre etc. I mean we may say 500ml instead but its cause we just that bit smarter. Lol

Anyone who puts imperial in parentheses after metric should be deported and have their citizenship revoked

As an imperial swine I concur

Almost all the Computer parts are designed using the metric System, including the Computer you were on when you typed this Comment.
It's just the way it is right now.
Good luck designing all the components yourself for your new Imperial measurement System based computer.
If you Ever get one made maybe I'll buy one.

Why would I need to do it myself? Silicon Valley's overrun with globohomo bullshit, we're gonna have to fix it anyway unless we want everything designed in Mandarin too. It'd be the perfect opportunity to upgrade all our computing technology: Optical instead of electronic, ternary logic instead of binary, maybe even quantum based in the near future.

I always forget how much potential there is, usually I just go the luddite route

ternary logic instead of binary,

21 base3 = 7 base10

Blackjack!

But seriously, Computers are getting very, very fast and powerful.
Almost too powerful. They're running Hospitals, and are programmed to maximize profits and cut costs, ordering doctors and nurses around. Just plain scary. Plus, remember, COVID-19 = $$$.

Especially scary since these systems need to need to be secured from foreign malicious actors.
