We recognize they are human, and humans are dangerous enemies. Not all, but many will abuse power when given it. Some will really abuse it and commit atrocities under color of law. I view this man's arrest as an atrocity and basically torturing him for stepping out of line. Make no mistake shutting him down, fining him, pulling his license, arresting him -this is life ruining shit.
The truth is if you're interacting with a cop in any official capacity (not waiting on him, cop in a diner kind of shit) he is actively trying to fuck you over. Looking for any avenue to fine you, impound your vehicle or arrest you. That is how they are promoted and make a name for themselves. We're talking life ruining shit for something as innocent as choosing what to ingest into your body of your free will. Or not having all of your paperwork perfectly in order. Especially a rookie cop, look the fuck out for a kid cop.
Just because someone is a cop doesn't make them bad, but it also doesn't make them good or a 'hero' to be quite honest. It's just a dude like you and me but with a uniform on -that's all. There's no reason a commie couldn't join the force and push his beliefs or a black supremist looking to get back at white people (common in big cities). In fact, they have a lot of motive to do just that, being how authoritarian they are. Cops are nothing special, certainly not to be worshiped, and absolutely you must keep an eye on them.
