I have a lot more experience with China than you, but what you said is exactly correct. By referring to them as modern monarchists, you have succinctly described what the CCP is really all about. I have said many times that China's political culture is dynastic more than it is Communist. And the rulers follow the logic of dynastic rulers, including setting up their children to rule after them.
One of our biggest problems here is that we have allowed too many "political families" to gain power. As much respect as I have for Don Jr., everything about political families is totally antithetical to what America is supposed to be.

Russia never had America's wealth in its history and Russia never had the racial/ethnic/religious diversity in America. the communists know diversity is a weakness but their puppets say "it is a strength".the communists are managers to the international capitalists; the globalists or international capitalists know that Americans will never accept communism easily but if they easily subvert them through corporations and academia, then Americans will accept it.
Leftist/Liberals are not the only ones which can easily be propagandized but conservatives also. modern American conservatism is also accepting communism in small doses.
