How come so many commentators are using this word "based"? It is BIASED.

You might be new here - being based is that they actually understand what we're about and make solid arguments that fight the insanity that exists from the domestic terrorists in the coalition of the democrats party.

Do you know the etiology of this term?

From the Urban Dictionary Based The quality of having an opinion without regard for what other people think, often a controversial opinion but not always. Upon expressing such an opinion it is customary for others to acknowledge the person as being based.

Fo shizzle my nizzle!

Can't from the crack pandemic where it was first used but then rap and then internet took it and turned it into something positive. Much like we have done with other words in history

EG: Cool Hot Word Ratchet Dope Jerk Tugg Bad Dude Cock Dipstick Gay

I could keep going. There are also other words we just make up over time like for example:

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Peace out gangsta ✌️

Not trying to be a dick, but you seem to have a pretty shaky grasp of the English language to be going around correcting people. Etiology? Commentator?

If I express some curiosity about the origin of a jargon word that has been accepted and is being used in this community, why would you feel threatened by that? I wasn't 'correcting' anyone, just wanted to know how its usage came into being.
