Those walking boots are legit. My wife shattered her foot and severely stretched ligaments in her opposite ankle and I had just gone through a microfracture surgery on my knee. She was able to walk with two boots on to take care of me fairly pain free with one of those puppies. They are a god send. I thought it was more fake that he was limping coming out of the hospital.

But after the first few days, yes you can definitely put full weight on it depending on how you stand. My 5th metatarsal was broken so I had tk shift my full weight inward and not lean too much to one side else it was painful.
Yes, you do put your weight on the foot in the boot. That's sort of the point of the boot. Depending on the severity, doctors may recommend crutches and keeping the weight off for a few days, but then they will insist on no crutches and putting weight on the foot.
