It’s about ankle strength not boot strength. If your ankle was truly broken, it doesn’t matter if your boots were made of bricks, you shouldn’t put your weight in it.

I broke my middle toe once by slamming it into a couch leg on accident. Couldn't do anything more than tape it. There was no way I was putting my full weight on it until my leg stopped spasming from pain while limping. No way he would be walking properly with a broken foot...

I am a broken foot survivor. I was not allowed to put weight on my foot for like 3 weeks while in a cast. Casts are pretty solid too...
