As someone that broke his own foot recently, it depends which bone you broke. I walked around with a sandal type wrap instead of a full boot because its easier. But after the first few days, yes you can definitely put full weight on it depending on how you stand. My 5th metatarsal was broken so I had tk shift my full weight inward and not lean too much to one side else it was painful.
