There's lots of debate. Translations based on Textus Receptus have mountains of validating docs. Translations based on Alexandrian Text use an older text, found very recently in Vatican Archives (not sure where it was for so many years), but the validating texts to support differences in this text are very minimal. Some people still think having an older, yet minimally validated text is better. Others prefer the text that has the abundant validating texts spanning centuries.
So, if you like Textus Receptus info, A Greek/Hebrew Interlinear Bible is an awesone family Bible. You can read the translation, but also see the original languages in a parallel format. Above the foreign words of the original text, each word is translated. It also has a very good intro explaining the method historians use to determine which texts are believed to be more accurate & why. The 1611 KJV uses Textus Receptus as well as the Geneva Bible. New King James takes the KJV translation & tries to make the language more contemporary.
If you want a Bible based on Alexandrian Text (explained above), ESV is the way to go.
"Ultimately, the best Bible...is the one you'll read. So don't get too hung up on translations. Read the one that you understand."
I heard another voice from heaven, saying, “Come out of her, my people, so that you will not participate in her sins and receive any of her plagues; for her sins have piled up as high as heaven, and God has remembered her offenses.
Pay her back even as she has paid, and give back to her double according to her deeds; in the cup which she has mixed, mix twice as much for her.
To the extent that she glorified herself and lived luxuriously, to the same extent give her torment and mourning; for she says in her heart, ‘I sit as a queen and I am not a widow, and will never see mourning.’
For this reason in one day her plagues will come, plague and mourning and famine, and she will be burned up with fire; for the Lord God who judges her is strong.
To all who may read the NASB, one lie added among countless, is that Jesus lied in John 7:8.
8 Go up to the feast yourselves; I am not going up to this feast, because My time has not yet fully arrived.” 9 Now having said these things to them, He stayed in Galilee.
10 But when His brothers had gone up to the feast, then He Himself also went up, not publicly, but as though in secret.
If you'd like to learn more about why that is the case, and deepen your faith and trust in the power of god's word, I recommend this book.
I highly recommend reading it. God promised to preserve his word perfectly, and he kept that promise faithfully. Knowing god's exact words without qualification gives us greater faith in his promises, and strength in our prayers. God bless you pedes.
So His brothers said to Him, “Move on from here and go into Judea, so that Your disciples also may see Your works which You are doing. For no one does anything in secret when he himself is striving to be known publicly. If You are doing these things, show Yourself to the world.” For not even His brothers believed in Him. So Jesus *said to them, “My time is not yet here, but your time is always ready. The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify about it, that its deeds are evil. Go up to the feast yourselves; I am not going up to this feast, because My time has not yet fully arrived.”
John 7:3-8 NASB2020
Jesus was declining to travel with his brothers, who wanted him to be a showman.
Suppose a co-worker saw me leaving the office at 2:00 p.m. and asked me, “Are you going home?” and I said, “No,” but later went home that day at 5:00 p.m. Have I lied? Not at all. When I left the office at 2:00 p.m., I went to run a quick errand—I did not go home. When I departed the office at 5:00 p.m., however, I went home. “No” is often truthfully used in a time-sensitive manner. Simply because at 2:00 p.m. I said I was not going home, does not mean I could not go home at 5:00 p.m. My “no” meant “I’m not going home at the present.” Similarly, if Jesus used the term “not” [ouk] rather than “not yet” [oupo], He could just as easily been implying the same thing: “I am not going to the feast at the present.”
Some people believe that the early church conspired and succeeded in altering scripture, that god denied access to anything resembling his true word for 1800 years until a self admitted spirit worshipper and closet catholic found it in a pile of trash waiting to be burned. A document so full of errors and outrageous lies that no translator is willing to follow it closely, but believe that document is modern man's best hope to recreate god's word using man's great wisdom and knowledge to do so.
Most christians do not actually understand that this belief is the foundation of their bible, and would not willingly choose such a bible if they knew. This post is to educate those who could not and would not be willing to believe such a lie.
Conspiracy theory based on a false understanding of linguistic analysis.
There is nothing pure or unique about the KJV.
Behind this argument is the same cultic spirit that said the Latin Vulgate was the only pure way to read scripture for a thousand years (give or take).
I know what you mean...I have shed more tears in the past few weeks than I have in an entire lifetime.....God is Great....I will praise him in this storm
Me too. I have begged God to heal our land. I try to remember he has a plan and I have to accept that. Thankfully, he wants us to ask for all things. And I do. xoxo
I have that same type bible from my father who passed. I only break it out in times like this and I try and find what he marked up. It's great getting to know what my father found important in the scriptures.
What i found in my deceased grandfather's bible stunned me.
My mom asked if i had his bible after Thanksgiving. I didn't think i did but my better half reminded me i did. After many years what was inside was a couple cards with "30 ways to pray for people in authority. "
The bible was a gift from my grandmother on fathers day 1975...Inside were her writings presenting it to him.
As i read her words i could hear her voice and started to break down and cry half way through.
And I can still hear my grandpa saying "this is the end times. "
Thank you grandpa, grandma mom, dad, for showing me the way. Jesus said " I am the way.
..."
God bless America.
There's power in the words of the good book, and it's not a coincidence like every single leftist is an atheist. I notice they all seem to say the exact same trite line about "magical sky people" like it was an NPC software update too.
You don't have to be religious, but fucking hell, the sheer arrogance of just assuming you know how the entire universe works as some nobody leftist prol....
Anyone know which is the more accurate bible?

Context is important.

When the proper time fully arrived, Jesus went. Yet or no yet, Jesus did not lie and your entire argument is invalid.
Are you still spouting this perverted view of yours?
Leave off. I already showed how you were wrong once.

God is GREAT BROTHER!
HE IS RISEN!
And on the throne, which is reassuring.
Me too. I have begged God to heal our land. I try to remember he has a plan and I have to accept that. Thankfully, he wants us to ask for all things. And I do. xoxo
I am very sorry for your loss. The Bible was a wonderful gift to remember him and I am glad that you cherish it. Stay strong and may God bless you!
Keep your faith GOD ALWAYS WINS
Thanks for that. It's good to be reminded. His word holds so many promises and thoughts relevant to this time. xoxo
It is written.

The software update thing is so true. And so weird.
Spot on.
The greatest sorrow is for those men to be able to slay monsters, must become monsters themselves.
