This is more significant than it looks on the surface.

He was hospitalized a month ago. Was he kept there this entire time?

If the answer is yes, then he somehow got COVID while in the most sterile facility (available to the public) imaginable. That or his symptoms didnt exist for an entire month which is why he was just tested.
