I work in tech. This really pisses me off. There are plenty of underemployed or unemployed American college grads that can't find work. I had to fight tooth and nail to land my current position.
If its bad (I havent read the act yet), GEOTUS vetos when it hits his desk and we use our newly rejuvenated power of the vote to turn the globalist neocons out of office.
Does someone have details on this? I don’t have a problem with high skill immigration, it’s something we want - to get the best brains from other countries to come here instead. But would love to know what pork is in this.
EDIT: downvotes for asking for links, details, etc? How do you guys get ammo? You just magically know everything? Disappointed
No. This is big tech and the oligarchy finding another way to undercut AMERICAN workers by importing cheaper, foreign labor. It's a globalist trojan horse. They use both illegal and ""legal"" mass immigration to lower our wages overall. American tech workers are even being forced to train their foreign replacements before being let go. That is in no way America 1ST.
So you have a link to the bills details on what is considered high skill? They always frame things as something good then the details reveal the true intent so I’d love to see
I work in deep tech. The US already domestically produced enough highly skilled people (nation of 300+ million with some of the best universities and labs in world). In the very rare case a highly skilled specialist is needed, there are already means to get those types.
This is about importing cheap labor and increasing the labor pool so that wages are kept lower.
What's your job? Whatever it is, that's high-skill now.
I don't care if you work at the zoo cleaning monkey shit off the walls, if a global conglomerate can save a nickel by calling it high-skill, it's high-skill.
Im torn on this. High skilled immigation is not a bad thing. But knowing teh tech leftist corruption they can deem some one who can identify a keyboard as being highly skilled.
Im a bit on the fence on this. Don't we want highly skilled people immigrating here? I just dont want ILLEGALS coming that aren't any benefit to us but a drain. Plenty of patriotic immigrants came over on a job visa and went about the right way to citizenship. Correct me if im wrong, but isnt that how Melania got over?
Yeah i cant disagree with that, i just figured we were a country based off importing the best brains around, but i can see how it could be exploited. Lots of emotions of this though, i get downvoted for asking an honest question 🤷♂️🙏🇺🇸
The question is how many US citizens are out of work. I see both sides right here. Some trying to hire and saying they can't find anyone qualified, others saying they're qualified and can't find work.
Well thats very true, my dad had a hard time after the 08 crash finding work because he was 1) older, and 2) "overqualified".. which sucks. Plus i could be wrong with my original statement, this could/most likely will, lower wages.
Same here. It's too late for me to read bills, but I know a lot of PhDs who have to fight to stay in this country. Say what you want about immigrants, it makes no sense to chase out a guy with a physics PhD and have them benefit China instead. People think too much with their emotions here.
Right, i get a few downvotes from a genuine question. I definitely agree emotions have played alot with some of these comments, we're a country created and built by immigrants and we've frankly done it the best. And I'll emphasive once again, i hate illegal migrants, but i very much enjoy hard workers who come in the right way, the hard workers tend to be conservatives anyway. Even India tends to be pretty conservative. I just dont get the radical emotions...
And what if they're eastern european conservatives? Does that change anything? I was just saying most hard working immigrants tend to lean conservative even from India..
Don't care about people coming in on visas and never leaving like they agreed to and stealing jobs from Americans.
Sorry man, we can both support trump but i got my own priorities over foreigners just because they share a few beliefs doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things.
I'd put my money though on the majority of hard workers going through the legal means of getting citizenship. Im just getting this south park: "they took rrrrrrr jbbbbbssss!" Vibe, doesn't help our side. Makes us look like the stereotype the left sees us as. Which i don't think we are, a few same beliefs goes a long way. I like to see people with how we agree on things, not disagree.
That stereotype literally exists to discredit actual criticism. I don't care how the "other side" perceives me. Republican and Democrats are two sides of the same coin, always has been.
You're too focused on race. You realize the melting pot is globalism and revisionist history right?
If all it took to be American was a few of the same beliefs, there wouldnt be a thousand other cultures with their own customs. Being an American is more than just agreeing to a few things. They have a history and foundation. A few hundred years of customs, our own holidays and more. Im done seeing America replaced with a gray society of serfs
I dont support immigration from anywhere, Europe and Australia either.
I will agree that the two party system is different sides of the same coin which is why im registered independent. Im not at all focused on race, im focused on our history and that this country is the golden city on a hill of a melting pot. We already are.. I'll link my favorite quote from Teddy Roosevelt:
“In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person’s becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American … There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag … We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language … and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.”
Thats basically my whole point and feeling on the topic.
Bi-partisan is an illusion of two sides. There’s only one side now.
The UNI-PARTY
Because there are no "high skilled" Americans for those jobs. Right? /s
Can POTUS veto this?
He should.
Of course he will
It's veto proof
Do it anyway
Of course! Just saying 100% of Senate can ram this through. We need to barrage our Senators about this
If you say so. I don't see how this helps a runoff, but I don't have one here and am OOTL
I work in tech. This really pisses me off. There are plenty of underemployed or unemployed American college grads that can't find work. I had to fight tooth and nail to land my current position.
So did my youngest son, with a MS in ME. There is no need for this bullshit when many qualified Americans are unemployed. Fuck these commie fucks.
Lol look who preceded him in office and who's he related to...
Every. Single. Time.
The republican party is not and will not allow itself to be a populist or nativist party
What??????????????????/ What about fairness for actual Americans - high-skilled and otherwise! Where is THAT act???????????????
Veto incoming.
GTFOOH - fucking traitors!
If its bad (I havent read the act yet), GEOTUS vetos when it hits his desk and we use our newly rejuvenated power of the vote to turn the globalist neocons out of office.
As a graduating software engineer:
FUUUUUCKKKKK THISS SHITTTTTTTTT
hasnt POTUS gone on record as being for this?
I wonder where they took all that fairness from that they're giving away to immigants

After this pandemic bullshit, there is literally no shortage of qualified Americans to fill these jobs. They want to import slaves. Follow the money.

I love our based immigrants. Like the young indian girl in the hearing today
No immigration. We need a moratorium
