I remember ASL back on the old chat rooms in the early 90s. Those were the days, but I know you're talking earlier than that.
On a side note I watch a lot of old TV shows like from the 60s, and I generally find the women back then a lot more attractive than today. Back then they all wore nice dresses and didn't have any metal in their face, didn't have too much makeup on, nice hair styles, etc... Today it can look like the circus is in town when you see a group of girls in their 20s.
