Does a private business have the authority to deam it a criminal offense to posess a gun on its property? What's the legality behind this?

I would think the private company could set rules for its establishment and that as far as those rules intersected with legal code (theft, murder, etc) they would be enforced by the authorities. But in this case we are talking the authorities enforcing a store policy as a law when it is not one.

Is there some sort of statute that makes it a crime to carry in these places or something?

In my state it is only trespassing if they ask you to leave and don't.

I live by the rule that concealed is concealed and if I need it, a trespassing charge is probably the least of my concerns in that moment.

I conceal very well for this purpose. It’s sometimes difficult to do as a female, and the complications of the more form fitting clothes, but it just takes some creativity. The idea is to not get caught!

I've always been jealous I wasn't a woman and can't cart around a Desert Eagle in my purse.
