My step father was like this and would dismiss any information showing the ineffectiveness or masks. Eventually I asked him to give me information proving the effectiveness of masks, he couldn’t provide anything more than emotional articles that said things like “has some effectiveness”. Well “some effectiveness” is any number greater than 0% and less than 100%, so what is the number?

If there were standards, as in N95 mask required, than there is provable effectiveness ASSUMING the mask protocol is followed perfectly by every person wearing them, but we know that’s an impossibility. If cloth masks are effective, and we are forced to wear them, why hasn’t there been a study to prove effectiveness from those forcing their use? Wouldn’t that put the argument to bed?

You don’t have to prove the ineffectiveness or masks, they must prove the effectiveness of masks. And “feeling they work” is not scientifically quantifiable at all.

Right. most of the studies 'proving' masks work talk about droplet size and Brownian motion, and conclude "masks stop droplets, this proves masks stop Covid"
