So true, man. Ima rember how I was the only one or one of two or three in any given store without a mask at that time too.

Right there with you brother. My whole family treats me like an insane inconsiderate asshole for doing so.

That's why I have been on an epic campaign of screenshotting and documenting as many of my "friends and family" enthusiastically accepting their slavery so that I can make fun of them for decades. Fucking losers.

One pede mentioned that by 1975, you couldn't find anyone who voted Nixon.

I took a photo of my kids playing on the playground with the “playground closed” sign in view. I have receipts. Plus no mask.

Got kicked out of my favorite bar over it...

Well done! That’s commitment.

In April, at the height of the China Virus madness, the attendant at the laundromat I go to had a complete meltdown when I refused to wear a mask inside (per the mandate in New York State). She screamed at me to get out, and when I just ignored her and stuffed my clothes in the washer, she went for the kill shot. "I'M CALLING THE POLICE!!" I looked right in her fat fucking face and told her, "Go right on ahead."

She looked at me, confused and terrified, and walked quietly back to her chair. These people expect your compliance but are incapable of following through. Call their bluffs. Make them feel fear.

That counts. I don't wear the face diapers, I just go around, do my shopping like normal, no fuss, I just do it without the mask. Most people don't seem to notice.

Safe to say if I'm here, I oppose them.

Not if you were her backmin February. This forum was completely cucked back then!

15 days to flatten the curve isn't absurd, which is how they got us

they conservatives are more threat aware and also they like borders, because they don't want contaminants in their space

this was an attack on conservative minded people precisely on what triggers them

neverreddit [S] 3 points ago +3 / -0

I was here in mid February and I don’t remember it being cucked...?

Don't overdo your sense of self-righteousness, you're going to need it in the future.

Most people are live-and-let-live kind of people and accepted the argument of a 15 day curve flattening as a compromise type thing. Even if they didn't believe it (come on, the damn virus was being researched in a BSL-4 lab, like a flimsy face mask is going to do shit), 15 days was seen as an acceptable level of bullshit to put up with to return to normal.

Yes, boiled frogs and all, but most people just want to go about their lives. The real world is all about compromise. Was this particular compromise a mistake? Maybe. It's happened, though, and it's the subsequent power grab that is definitely a mistake.

I've spoken to Europeans who said that they HAD to open their countries over Summer, even though they knew they were risking more infections, etc. It was an economic decision at that point - certain smaller EU countries would NOT have survived another 6-12 months of lockdown.

They have seen infection spikes since then, but I believe that much of it would have been seen no matter what. The whole COVID Bullshit just goes to show how uninformed and cattle-like the general population is. You tell them a scary story in the news, and keep following it, and they will BELIEVE. If only the media had a conscience and tried this hard with actual health issues, we'd actually live in a better world.

In February I was willing to put up with it because the only thing we knew was that China was lying. We know more now.

Just like ALL Frenchies were part of the Underground during WWII.

What's the saying? In hard times Patriots are scare because it's hard work but in good times Patriots are plentiful because it's easy. Or some such.

7
Crisis83 7 points ago +7 / -0

Yup. Pretty much the same as the Iraq and Afghan wars.

5
pmmeyourproblemsolva 5 points ago +5 / -0

To be fair, from what I've read, the whole Afghanistan thing was pretty justifiable. Iraq no, they were pretty much minding their own business, but in Afghanistan they had training centers and indoctrination camps, turning out austere religious scholars by the truck load.

5
Crisis83 5 points ago +5 / -0

Well they would absolutely know that since the Taliban were armed and trained by the US Swamp from 79 to 89.

3
AussieTrumpFan 3 points ago +3 / -0

And ISI from then through to the present.

3
pmmeyourproblemsolva 3 points ago +3 / -0

Absolutely, they don't even deny that anymore. If you create a monster maker machine to fight the USSR, and the USSR goes away but that machine you created keeps spitting out people who now want to kill you, it's kinda reasonable to go shut that machine down. Honestly, it would probably be unethical not to.

I'm going to look into this further and see what I can or can't find, but it sounds right. Saddam liked his chemicals, the Kurds know.

Saddam Hussein rerouted oil-for-food aid to families of suicide bombers, about $1M in total. Not saying that justifies everything that happened afterward. It doesn't.

But people were very concerned since suicide bombing appeared to be rapidly going global; this is why many Americans went with whatever the government said was going to stop it.

4
pmmeyourproblemsolva 4 points ago +4 / -0

I'm not sure I believe that. Saddam Hussein Abd al-Majid al-Tikriti was a very bad man, I'm not sure that he would do something to jeopardize himself, his regime, his supreme rein, or the principles of the Ba'ath Party: "Unity, Liberty, Socialism." If I were him I wouldn't to anything to show my ass, but I'm not him, and I can't say if he might or might not have done that.

But people were very concerned since suicide bombing appeared to be rapidly going global; this is why many Americans went with whatever the government said was going to stop it.

I was a young adult at the time. All I heard about was Yellow Cake, Yellow Cake, Yellow Cake. I don't remember any mention of suicide bombers at the time. But granted, I was a young man in my prime and I was much more interested in chicks than global politics so fully admit I was clueless.

It's cute that Jeff thinks lockdowns will stop. The reality is that unless we win, these lockdown will be the "new normal" (and anyone that says new normal in the real world in a non sarcastic way should be castrated).
