I'm just saying, the app icon and the actual website icon were blacked out for BLM. But soon after the election its gone.
What does it prove? That Black votes matter to leftists, but they could give two shits less about black lives once their usefulness has run out.
I have no doubt that there are many Democrats, Liberals, and Progressives who on a personal level truly do care about black lives and racial equality (see: Equality of Opportunity).
There are a bunch of non-profits that operate in Chicago, Milwaukee, and Detroit that have had a quantifiable positive impact on their participants and their ability change their socioeconomic class. Primarily through early education, fraternal/sororal bonds being built, education around tradeskills, and experience based service learning inside and outside of their communities (food pantry in another county, homeless shelter in another city, habitat rebuilding in the country, demolition and remodeling in another city/county or on a reservation like Pine Ridge).
The issue is that those organizations continue to support the Democrats, Liberals, and Progressives in their pursuit of Equity (see: Equality of Outcome) while naively believing that Opportunity and Outcome are the same thing.
We’ve seen many eyes being opened particularly in the black community because of the vile attacks on anyone who interacts with Trump or considers the success of their constituents before their allegiance to party (see: Ice Cube).
Add to that major cultural icons like Kanye unabashedly stating their religious beliefs in pop culture and capitalistic institutions distributing that message as widely as possible due to a profit incentive and you can imagine the “monolith” of the black vote falling apart as more people realize that they’ve been cheated by the actual racists and rediscover their actual cultural heritage.
The amount of black people who buy into the pandering “Black King” and “Black Queen” bullshit is astonishing but there are more and more people who understand that even divided along racial lines the more logical historical models are Frederick Douglass and Harriet Tubman. When the racial model and critical race theory is proven false for these same people they realize that there’s no reason that they can’t have Lincoln, Washington, Hamilton, and others as role models. We’re all Americans (and there are even some exceptional non-Americans out there too :P)
Excellent, thoughtful response .
