Peeps in my family have had to wear one of these, and broken bones hurt, especially when you walk on them, which is the standard procedure nowadays because it promotes healing, or something like that.

Protocol is to use crutches with a walking boot for at least the first couple days.
Not the protocol that was used with my relatives. No crutches were issued.
