Infections depend greatly on the electron and proton availability of your terrain (your body tissues), and you can move these values around by selecting different kinds of drinking water and fight the 4 types of infections since they just so happen to be polar opposites in terms of electron/proton requirements:
Humans have achieved approximately the same and current level of technology multiple times in human history, only to collapse multiple times.
Note: I don't put much stock into this, I only make the observation that most of our current buildings and tools would crumble away to dust in a few thousand if not hundred years leaving little trace. The only thing that would survive are large, solid stone structures. Just one of my favorite little myths/conspiracies.
My addition would be that there are an elite group that collects the best tech, hoards, and advances it between collapses.

Drinking water below 100PPM mineral salts has greatly reduced my vulnerability to infections, but... it has not completely stopped them.
If you are some kind of fish tank geeks, please share your opinion.
