Those two ladies didn’t seem to listen to him at all. I’d be embarrassed if they represented me.

Here is the problem:
Legislatures are filled with swamp rat GOP who are afraid of losing their seats. There are at most 20% based reps. No more than that. Unless they believe it's guaranteed that they'll be voted out, they're not gonna do anything.
Which means public pressure the likes of which they've never seen before.
