Yea, the south shouldn't have attacked Fort Sumter. Straight up, the south caused that war with that attack. So, since they started it, the north finished it. Punitive measures were put on the south after the war to prevent any further uprisings.

He chose the Rights of the Individual, as that is the FOUNDATION of the Rights of the States. And if a fucking DEMOCRAT hadn't MURDERED him, he was going to repair the rights of the States, further enshrining the way that the Rights of the Individuals form the Rights of the Local Government, the Rights of the Local Governments form the Rights of the States, and then the Rights of the States form the Rights of the Federal Government. Every Right proceeds only from the combined rights of the lesser units before them. If at any point the Larger expresses its rights OVER the rights of the Smaller, then it is WRONG. The Southern States had NO rights to deny the rights to ANY of the Americans within them, and that HAD to be set right.
