at this point, the ones that are denying evidence and refusing to at least investigate are clearly playing a very foolish short term game - the fuck you I got mine mentality that got us into this mess in the first place

Representatives should be able to think and plan ahead beyond their immediate needs. It's pretty clear that greed is a big factor as to why some of these people got into politics in the first place - greed and power but no concern or sense of duty and responsibility to the people they represent.

I don't want to feel like I'm the crazy one for wanting our representatives to have some kind of honor and love for their country. I do realize that there's plenty of good people in government that do the right thing all the time but the ones that ignore corruption makes it hard to remember that.
