You mean to tell me you think the same party that rigged their primaries against Bernie Sanders twice in a row are now rigging it in favor of their candidate in the general election?

... Yeah, seems like a reasonable conclusion to me, too.

I mean, the DNC's legal argument was that they were allowed to rig their own primaries:

The Bernie Bros who were capable of thinking for themselves boarded the Trump Train long ago.

Don't know if I can speak for all former BernieBros but here's my bit of perspective and opinion. Long rant and probably boring that nobody wants to read so apologies in advance:

A lot of us did want to address things like addressing terribad trade deals like TPP and address stuff like unemployment and helping the working class. Bernie did appeal to a lot of those ideals that we wanted, and 2016 Bernie was actually much different from what he is now; he definitely was pretty extreme back then too looking in retrospect, but not nearly as bad as he is now.

Jumping off the previous post of how BernieBros who were capable of thinking for themselves, we realized that...Trump did actually manage to accomplish a decent amount of those things that we wanted, that Bernie also supported too. He pulled us out of TPP, helped our economy and the working class, all that "socialist" stuff that we wanted but without having to resort to actual socialism.

This is my own tinfoil hat speculation, but I think that after 2016 when we all found out that the DNC rigged the primaries so that Bernie would lose to Hillary, Bernie also figured this out too. He basically sold out, and they paid him off, and that's why he became a millionaire (and changed his slogan where "The millionaires and billionaires" to "The billionaires").

The DNC paid Bernie off to keep quiet, and basically keep people like Bernie/AOC as figureheads to appease the progressives, extremists, etc. and keep them hopeful, but will never allow them to have any actual major leadership position. Which is why in 2020 he's an empty husk and figurehead that's just ultimately a DNC puppet.

We were hoping Bernie would be an anti-establishment candidate. Trump actually was the anti-establishment candidate, and Bernie basically became the establishment's puppet.

Other former BernieBros here can correct me if I'm wrong but this was my rant/opinion.

I wasn't that politically active. I think you're right that I probably did fall for a lot of the pie-in-the-sky idealistic stuff, but in terms of my own political views I don't know.

I know back then when I was younger, I was definitely fairly leftist, but right now I would say I have lots of weird various contradicting extreme left and extreme right political views and that hasn't really changed. So I wouldn't say I did a full 360 either, nor am I a conservative. But I don't think I did a huge ideological switch at all.

What actually shifted is mainstream leftism itself. Believe it or not, back in 2016 in the various Bernie groups, hardcore Antifa commie types were actually not that common (nowhere near to the level as they are now) and during then when they did try to say "And that's why we need communism", they would mostly just laughed out and told to shut the fuck up.

But ever since Trump came and disrupted the system, leftism has done a thing where it just either radicalized everyone or kicked out the rest. The Berniebros who were more interested in being leftist than actually being correct, became more and more extremist and far-left, and to this day are still constantly trying to keep up with wokeism and stuff like Critical Race Theory. The BernieBros such as me who could "think for themselves" as the previous user mentioned, who realized it was all bullshit, either got branded as conservatives or just said fuck leftism and walked away.

So the part that I disagree with is your assertion it's BernieBros that have changed their ideology, which I don't think is the case. It's leftism itself that changed, and it's us who refused to change to fit ourselves to leftism. But again, this is just my perspective and I'm sure other former BernieBros can correct me if I'm wrong on this.

When people throw the "Republicans are just as crappy as Democrats" line, I always remind them of that. Yes there are some crappy ones, but I remember how strongly they fought against Trump winning the primaries. When he had the numbers though, they held their noses and got behind him.

Democrats on the other hand, have rigged their primaries twice in a row.

They've been doing this for quite some time. They did it to Kucinich as well when he raised contention with the ACA mandate about a decade ago. These people are pathetically corrupt, and lazy about covering their tracks.

I don't think they've ever NOT rigged anything.
