Have you ever heard of the often quoted line from Shakespeare, “Let’s kill all the lawyers!”? It is used in pop culture to show how much lawyers are hated and reviled throughout society.

But Shakespeare likely meant the exact opposite. The character that speaks that line is a person who is scheming to ascend to the throne illegally. That character rightfully determined that lawyers would be the only ones savvy enough to discover the plot and stand in the way of his fraud.

It’s quite apropos: Slow Joe is the pretender, scheming his way to the throne. And a band of wily, rascally lawyers has descended in every swing state to stop the sham.

Shakespeare knew - and now you do, too.
