Thanks for the advice! I went the cybersecurity route, and now I’m focusing on getting a couple certifications. It’s surprised me how hard it is to get a call back when there are so many unfilled jobs. That’s good advice though, I won’t sit still once I get in somewhere.
They want this because it’s easier to get foreign workers to break our laws. They can bend foreign workers over the barrel with threats to have them deported. They can’t do that to citizens of the US. Ever notice that there aren’t hardly any black Americans in big tech? Only white racist assholes at the top, except giggle... and he’s a racist nazi.
Disgusting RINO's seeking to pass their sugar-daddy lobbyist deals while everyone is distracted with election fraud. Well, Mike Lee and company - YOU ARE THE FRAUDS. WE WILL BUST YOUR ASSES in 2 years.
it’s kinda funny that the libtards who tend to work in silicon valley are seeing their futures disintegrate right in front of their eyes because of the exact policies they fight for
Yes, this just let's in more people with no loyalty to our country and we wind up with more censorship/election issues. Plus they have their kids here and they get to stay.
it counter intuitively SUPPRESSES INNOVATION as well. more workers equal less pay.
ever notice why China and India never rose to power despite the billions of people they have? it's because there was and is no incentive to innovate technology because you can pay a virtual slave peanuts to do the job instead of coming up with inventions to do it better.
Less workers means more pay. and that's good because they can live and buy stuff but what's more is that owners start to look for innovations such as more automation, leaning out things to make workers more productive to be able to make more money. These new innovations are then diffused through the economy and replicated and then new technological progress continues on top of the bedrock of innovations that went before. this innovation effect doesn't happen with millions of serfs and slaves which is history of the far east.
Are you guys sure this is that bad? It looks like the bill would removes limits for green card grants on a per country basis but I don't see anything about altering the limits on total number of green cards granted.
As an example, lets say that we have a green card limit on India of 10,000 per year and a limit of 1 million green cards per year for all countries combined. If the 10,000 limit on India is removed but the 1 million limit is not then we get the same number of green cards issued per year, the only difference is they will likely be issued based on when people apply. Essentially it will be first come first served and being from a specific country will not have an affect.
This still means that we will probably get more immigrants from higher populated countries (just because there will be more people applying from them) like India, but honestly I think there are worse places to get immigrants from and that might not be a bad thing.
HE MUST VETO THIS!
The same Republican Senators that just shafted the entire American middle class with this bill now comes asking us to vote for them......unbelievable.
It would have only taken a single Senator to have stopped this. Not a single Republican did. It passed with unanimous consent.
Let that sink in.
I work in tech.
VETO this shit.
This is suppression of American workers' pay and removing jobs at a time of high unemployment.
I just finished my degree at 32. This is devastating if it sticks.
Just work hard and get better than the rest of them.
20% of devs do 90% of the work - and their pay generally reflects that if you job shop often enough (every 2 years)

So do I. And sometimes I can’t help feel that our industry should be burnt to the ground as retribution for what it has done to the constitution
It is an abomination.
Wait, even Cruz voted for this?
They did it by unanimous consent, so they didn't have to vote individually.

Its delicious and epic
Maybe instead of perpetually importing foreigners to fill our tech gaps, we invest in our tech and trade schools to teach real competitive job skills.
Spez: WE should be the ones exporting hi-quality nerds to the rest of the world.
WTF is wrong with voters in Utah?
Voters? Are we sure the 'voters' actually voted for this fucktard?
We have learned we cannot trust any of the elections going back 20 years.
That simple fact is not widely known yet, and is only STARTING to gradually sink in for those that have been red-pilled.
When it really, really does sink in... Ho Li Fuk.
Good point.
They're Mormon cultists.
Dont matter what you believe when the winner is picked by dominion
As we get shit canned due to a bullshit virus, OUR LEGISLATORS want to bring in fucking H1B scabs to take our jobs. NO fucking way

Correct, and this is NOT a racist position. We only demand that any immigration is allowed when these conditions are met:
We aren't in a pandemic/unemployment cycle.
We rigorously screen for people who aren't harmful to Western culture. for ex. - Liberty minded, not socialist freeloaders and culture warriors.
Send them back when their cards expire and no -birth citizenship and no fucking welfare and voting rights.
Yes. Make 67 of those bastards actually vote to override that Veto.

Yes please
I would be thrilled if he could somehow block any immigration for at least a decade. Better if it's 30 years
agree
plus, get rid of all the squatters ALREADY HERE
VETO VETO VETO
There isn't a big enough gallows for Congress.
Those motherfuckers destroyed our economy and are STILL trying to give jobs away to non-citizens.
Veto is irrelevant other than making a statement, already a veto proof majority.

YES!!! I contacted my Senators regarding this betrayal.
Here's a list of all the traitors that sponsored this bill -- https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/senate-bill/386/all-info
But it doesn't say that it passed in either House, so I'm confused what was passed "unanimously" as I've been seeing on the site.
Veto it Trump
We don't need to give away any jobs.
