This may have been true if you lived in the 1700 and 1800s when the british and spanish were sailing around the world, or in the late 1800s or early 1900s with the industrial revolution and heavy pollution. But for the last 30 years the west has tried to be pretty ECO-friendly.
Throwing blame on generations past is such BS, especially when there's modern day countries still committing the same atrocities which are completely ignored by the one's bitching about the West's past. Oh No's, America and the Brits got rich polluting and exploiting the rest of the world. They had SLAVERY.
There's slave markets in the middle east RIGHT NOW. Forced labor and re-education camps in China RIGHT NOW.
Hey lets go completely electric cars. Stop fracking. Rebuild every house in America to be green friendly, despite the fact that we already have some of the highest standards on the planet. No more straws or plastic bags b/c of pollution. Limit our beef production b/c of methane. Reduce air travel and more electric trains. Lets build back better and try for a one world in harmony. CO2 and gas/oil bad.
Oh the top dozen or so massive container ships emit more pollution than every car on the planet? And they run pretty much 365? That's ok, its improving the way of life of those poor 8 year olds working in a sweatshop. Conditions and pollution is so bad in China that we get a new virus sweeping the planet every 5-10 years. Covid, Swine, Avian, its ok, it's not on purpose.
Fuck her. Mountains and rivers of garbage in other countries. Populations that are accustomed to wearing a mask not b/c of tyrannical govermnent obsessing over a virus but b/c their air quality has historically been poor. Refusal to allow development of more nuclear technology, but pushing solar and wind, when they have been shown to be inadequate to meet demand in the West. We cant even heavily mine the minerals needed for solar here due to regulations and instead rely on China who instead creates massive amounts of pollution by-products removing it from the ground.
I'll eat a hamburger for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
