I asked the same thing on election night then someone said it was because of something I can't remember right now because even when it was mentioned back then, it still didn't make sense to me.

The point was, because of (whatever it was called), this is how VA, IL, CA, NY and such were called for Biden early on in the race. I remember seeing in CA, Trump was winning (I believe) but it was already called for Biden and I was like WTF?!
