When I was grade-school age (1960's), some less-expensive grade firearms were literally sold in hardware stores.

But how much could I save with the Home Depot brand?

I'm a little concerned about allowing complete off-the-shelf-ness, but if I was gonna do illicit stuff with a gun, I can't really think of any way I would stop me from doing it without violating the Constitution. I think I'll have to stay on the side of "If everyone is armed equally, then any violent offender knows what's coming"

I mean I could probably do the same illicit funtimes with a crossbow

I don't actually hate this. I would prefer a foregrip over a bipod though.
