Honda and Toyota still make new quality vehicles with manual transmissions.
edit: also, the manufacturers are correct. Modern CVTs are more efficient than you rowing your own gears. To their credit, the largest expense for most vehicles is fuel costs. But they are not as reliable as manual transmissions, and they take control out of your hands. Not worth it to me for an extra few MPGs.
Preach. It's safer too, since you simply can't "zone out" driving stick the way you can with automatics (or, lord help you, the sort-of-self-driving madness).
I hate how the assholes are destroying everything cool about the future.
Self-driving would be great for older people whose vision and reflexes are going or gone. But NO, of course it has to be ruined, and they will attempt to use it as a tool to take more autonomy away.
Modern cars operate on ECUs, input from the driver is a "request". You aren't physically pulling levers, your input is telling the car what you want to do. The logic in the software determines the best way to perform what you are asking under the conditions the vehicle sensors are detecting.
I'm saying, I'm not entirely sure putting an automatic in neutral would work under a hack scenario.
Or shift to neutral. Also, if this ever happens and for sun’s reason you can’t shift to neutral, slam the brakes as hard and long as possible. Don’t brake until you’re ready to full send, because you don’t want any fade, but your brakes should be able to fully stop your car with a wide open throttle if applied forcefully
The neutral thing only applies to manuals or older automatics. Shifters on modern automatics are just a fancy switch that tells the (CIA controlled) ecu what to do.
Yet another reason to drive classic cars. Cars without computers are more fun anyways. Also better for the environment if you dont buy a new Mercedes every other year.
You have to go back a fair way for no computer now though. I don't think I've driven a computerless car since 99 and that was an older vehicle on its last legs already.
Engine control unit: for example they appear to have done it for. putin's fav. Driver when they were "applying pressure" a few years ago. Then they killed or let his fav associate from ussr days get killed In turkey. they wonder why hes grumpy and uncooperative. We're lucky he didn't just nuke us TBH.
Electronic control unit. Most new vehicles controlled by computer. Add a data connecting device to it and nefarious people can take over the brain of your car.
That's horrible!
ECU takeover is the newest glowie tactic. They get off on this sick shit. Accelerate your car to 130mph and put it into a head on.collision
Definitely drive stick, then.
Redline it if you want, alphabet faggot. It's not going any faster than I want it to go 😂

Yet a manual transmission is the cheapest to maintain for a long time. They want ua all serfs, paupers, or dead.
You can put just about any car in neutral. Stick or not

That gives my left leg something to do especially on long rides, also shifting is so satisfying and you have a closer connection to your car

I really hope they’re around in a few years when my son will need to get a car
3 pedals is always the way to be!
What if you put an automatic in neutral when they try this? Blow up your motor at worst.
Better than dying.

Many new cars have no direct link to transmission from shift control.
Hard to find a stick.
Hard to find for who?
It seems wise to add a remote switch to the power wire on your fuel pump or some such.
It'll be the new VPN.
Immobilizer switches were popular at one time. Put something inline to the coil packs.

Modern automatics are "shift by wire", meaning there's no mechanical linkage from the gear selector to the transmission.
Why would you need any of that to cut a wire and add a mechanical switch?

Which is why I love my '85 Chevy pickup.
ecu? please explain
Thanks!
Engine control unit
The computer that is in your car if it is from the 90’s or newer
But to be clear, remote connection to ECU is not necessarily a given even on brand new cars. Every Manufacturer is different.
One car here drove into the back of a semi.

CIA was pressuring Putin? Under what administration?

If you believe Killer Elite, it's been done since the cold war.
Are you taking about the book on the Intelligence Support Activity?
The one they made a movie about, yes. Makes me wanna only drive 60s era muscle cars
It's speculated as another Seth Rich event.
