I researched the Michael Hastings death (see link above) years ago. The car he was driving seemed to accelerate out of control, and he crashed in a fireball, just like this kid. He was an independent journalist working on a story about John Brennan. I came across information about how the CIA had developed a program that would allow them to cause any vehicle (after 2011?) to accelerate. I found a leaked pdf or a powerpoint from a seminar on this, if I remember correctly. It was many years ago, and I apologize, but I do not have the source, but I believe it to be true.
That's just the point at which pretty much any car can be controlled, lots of cars have computer systems that can be controled in some capacity going back quite a bit further.
Even as a computer nerd, I want any car I own to be as mechanical and electronic-free as possible.
Source?
Can they move the gear selector out of neutral? Prevent your foot from plowing the brake pedal into the firewall?
