I've driven a stick shift most of my life up until fairly recently. I looked for one earlier this year when I needed a new vehicle. Problem is, they're almost impossible to find now (at least an affordable one is.) And if you do have one and it needs transmission work, it's incredibly difficult to find a mechanic and it will cost an arm and a leg because manual transmissions are a specialty now. It's all quite the opposite from the way things used to be back in the day - when auto transmissions were the expensive ones.
