Hello from heavily RED Pie Town in (blue) New Mexico (Catron County, District 7) Sincere gratitude for all efforts in creating this site.

Is it possible that in 2018, New Mexico was a training ground for the election/ballot manipulation we see today?

2018 Election eve: (R) Yvette Herrell makes acceptance speech.
The next morning reveals an 'overnight' ballot dump that catapults (D) Torres-Small to the lead and into the seat. Anyone else remember this? Practice makes perfect!

2020 I witnessed 1 of 2* 'glitches' unfold on election day. Both resulted when a mail-in ballot was surrendered for an in-person vote. The surrender requires an affidavit to be printed and signed by the voter, the election judge and a witness.

Normal Process: Check in - have identity verified - permit is printed - ballot is printed. During tally at the end of the night, the # of 'permits' should equal the # of 'ballots'.

When the 1st mail-in ballot was surrendered, an election official immediately notes that the # of permits "just jumped by 100", although only one permit was printed.

A call was placed to County Clerk. Clerk stated that a similar complaint was made by (also heavily RED) Datil, NM location, and that "techs were working on it". (The election judge made this statement as she returned to her chair from talking on the phone.)

Me (still standing in line): "Techs are working IN the system while voting is taking place?" The only reply was some wide eyes.

Election officials* tallied the printouts at the end of the evening. There was no reference (paper trail) to the 200 permits that weren't printed.

Our teeny tiny R community had a record turnout of 109 voters!
200 'air' permits could cancel our votes and add 100 to the 'other guy', Where did those permits go?

*Husband is election official (manned tabulator) @ location and witnessed both 'glitches'. He regrets that they didn't make more noise about the 'glitch' before signing off.

Husband mutters: "The numbers balanced". {{shakes his head}}
