Please do not impute false positions to me.

My mistake. Your post read as if you were advocating a continuation of our democratic system.

So if you are not in favor of democracy, monarchy, nor communism... what are you advocating for?

This whole answer presupposes that you're already clear on the distinction between a republic and a democracy, of course.

According to Plato Democracy is an umbrella category of all forms of government where power is vested in the populace. Such as direct democracy and republics (representative democracies). Democracy coming from the greek words Kratos meaning Power/Rule and Demos meaning People. PeopleRule.

A republic as our founders intended it. A limited government of enumerated powers, which ours ceased to be long ago.

So I believe what we had here was a miscommunication, as what you described is what I originally thought you stand for. We just had a misunderstanding over the word democracy. I used it as an umbrella term, and I believe you use it as a short hand for direct democracy. Is this correct?

which ours ceased to be long ago. I would say at least beginning around the time of FDR and the New Deal

I would agree with your assessment here. FDR marked a notable shift in the Platonic Civilization Stages from Democracy to Tyranny. The welfare state fuels the greed that brings democratic man to tyrannical man.

"The tyrannical man is the son of the democratic man. He is the worst form of man. He is consumed by lawless desires which cause him to do many terrible things such as sleeping with his own mother or murdering someone unjustly. He comes closest to complete lawlessness. The idea of moderation does not exist to him. He is consumed by the pleasures in life. He spends all of his money and becomes poor and leads a miserable life."
