A Divine Right monarch HAS to stick to the religious rules, or their very position and authority is called into question. They are fundamentally there to uphold good morals and practices. I also like the fact monarchs are trained from birth for the role, they eventually live and die by their decisions and are generally less corruptible due to the power and wealth they already hold. I agree on the need for non-centralised power too, that’s one of the things I really admire about the USA’s system (what it’s supposed to be anyway), the fact power is exercised by the local states and not the central government. The President is supposed to ‘preside’ over the nation, ensuring the constitution is upheld, whilst the states work within those boundaries. It’s a great idea, but it’s become so corrupted, it’s sad to see. I’m not going to pretend there isn’t downsides to monarchies, but we’ve had far more bad democratically elected officials, than we ever had bad Kings, and that’s a fact. I really do think democracy is dying everywhere, so your dream of an American monarchy is actually more viable than it seems.
