Car bodies are not entirely made of steel, etc anymore so with a fire you should expect panels missing here and there. With a bomb you'd expect to see areas that are peeled back or "exploded" outwards. I know there was a poster that said he thought he heard a "bomb" and if you have ever been in a high-speed crash that is how they sound. Its loud and it shocks the shit out of you. Thats a lot of kinetic energy being deployed in nano-second.
That said I dont know what caused any of this and Im not trying to shit on this theory that he was killed. That's entirely possible.
I beg to differ. I lived about a quarter mile from a highway for over 10 years. He said it sounded like a transformer blowing and he was right. There was one time when I was outside and I ducked thinking something exploded. Its a lot more energy than you think.

Up close, it might sound like a bomb to the unfamiliar.
From a distance, no, there’s no confusion.
