Those are the two that tend to spring to mind more quickly; however, Tiberius' reign wasn't all rainbows and cupcakes, and that was not far into the imperial age, so I like to use it as an example (plus, you know who came right after him and who put him there).
No, I don't really have any desire for an emperor.
Fun fact: Tiberius did in fact have his own “Paradise Island” where he’d sexually exploit children kidnapped from around the Roman Empire. He must have been a Democrat lol.
Ah Caligula. He was a transvestite 2,000 years before it was cool lol. He also tried appoint his personal horse to the Senate to insult the Senators by insinuating that a horse could do their job (which is the kind of 45d interdimensional chess Trump likes to play lol).
The only scenario in which we should ever "want" that is as the very last resort if it is proven our government has been corrupted beyond repair at every level. But in that case, I hope there are a lot of folks who would want that very very very badly. Enough to die for it.
I'm actually pretty chill with Emperor Trump. Yep definitely.
Problem with good emperors is that eventually they die...and you could get a very bad emperor ;)

That's why if Trump became a sort of emperor he would need to change the laws so that it can never happen again.
I think he, quite wisely, doesn't want to become one -- thus heading the entire problem off at the pass. And we shouldn't want one either.

If only the founders had thought of that... oh wait!
