Tim pool had a great metaphor, not sure if he stole it but he said if you hear a fire alarm and/or see smoke you call the fire department to come check it out. The fire department doesn't ask you if you have any evidence beyond that or if you have "proof" that there's a fire. They simply come check out the situation and investigate.
