Doesn't take much to melt aluminum. He was rear-ended by that flatbed truck with steel on it. Guy was probably dead on impact. I'm familiar with that stretch of road, it's a 2 lane interstate 65MPH posted, people still doing 80 from the just prior speed reduction. It's a place to find one lane doing ~80 and the other stopped. i16 is very dangerous. This type of accident is stupidly common. I went to school in the area, 4 girls were killed by a semi when I was there in the exact same manner, not paying attention, doing 80mph and slamming into a stopped vehicle. The truck that hit him was probably doing 70 and weighed 17klbs. Do the math. He was in what looked to be a quad cab F150 or similar sized vehicle. No contest. Look where the steel truck is, its fender is at the front seats....of a fucking F150 sized truck.

So many questions. First off, which vehicle was his? Second, what were the other people, either bystanders or the people who "walked away" from the wreck doing that they couldn't get that guy out of the car? What car went up in flames first and with all the safety bullshit, why did it go up so quick? Was this guy pinned in twisted metal and they couldn't get him out? I mean, shit happens. I won't claim to be a forensic investigator for these things, but I have seen my fair share of horrific vehicle accidents, rarely was fire involved, plenty of "hamburger" at times, though. I have even seen my share of highway carbecues but never have I seen someone burnt up in one. There could be a totally plausible explanation for this as being stupid or bad luck, but it looks suspicious as fuck as a freak accident.
