The controlled opposition that the contemporary Republican party represents has been in place for a long time simply to keep rational people from freaking out and burning the whole thing down. Just like Fox News, it's served it's purpose well, but the mask has slipped as it becomes harder to keep the game going.

This is why I have concerns about Trump pushing voting for two GOP establishment tools in a state that just flagrantly committed election fraud. That says to me he's still playing the game, and the only way we're going to make it out of this is stop playing entirely.

It's likely that he has information and perspective that we don't have, though, so we shall see.
