What mask mandate? Are you even from South Dakota, or Sioux Falls? The city council laid no teeth in their supposed "mask mandate." No fines, no jail time, literally no penalties. The Sioux Falls police even came out and said if you see someone not wearing a mask, don't call us, we don't care and we won't respond. The city council might be a bunch of clowns but their "mandate" is toothless. Further more, it should fully be within the jurisdiction of local representatives to create rules and laws for the people they represent. Have you forgotten how a Federalist Republic is supposed to work? I can easily go talk to my council ward and voice my opinion and frustration over a silly law. I'm more likely to know the council person, and even more likely to be neighbors or associates with them. Try doing that at the state level to a governor or representative, or even worse a federal level to a president or congressional representative. Your argument over masks is dumb. It would be just as authoritarian for her to step in and strip the local government of it's rights to represent the population as it would be for her to mandate masks for the state. Would you equally say that no state law should be more restrictive than a federal law? Further pushing the conch of control to higher levels of government? What a moronic thing to be angry about, "how dare a governor allow local representatives to make decisions about their own communities that they represent!"
I addressed most of this in a comment to someone else, which you are welcome to read if you want.
Although you already ignored a point I made about people literally voicing their concern over the vote, and were ignored, but you still made the point of “they can just voice their concern if they want!” So not really sure debating you is gonna be productive lol
I'll be honest, I don't even know where to begin with this and quite frankly I don't care to write a long diatribe in an online debate for fake internet points on all the reasons I find your logic flawed (I guess you can take that as a win). I read your other post, it makes as little or less sense than your last. You seem to think because people showed up to a city council meeting or a protest that some how proves non-mask wearers are the majority in Sioux Falls (it doesn't), if you don't like the council decision after opinions were voiced the next place to make your voice heard is on the campaign trail and in the ballot box for these council people, that's how government works. By your logic Antifa or BLM should be getting their way in Portland and any other place they've held major protests. You make a completely incoherent argument comparing masks to rape, and those who CHOSE to follow a meaningless law as victims of rape (wtf??). Then you go on to completely deny the rights of private property owners and businesses from choosing to run their property and business how they see fit. I love that your a Trump supporter and a pede, but your concepts of how a functional government and society has to work, more importantly how our functional society and government works is severely flawed.
