Crossing the point of no return. In this case, Trump declaring martial law and starting to arrest all traitors

If you cross the Rubicon, you've engaged in an action you must see through. No takesies-backsies.

Like the commies trying to steal the election.

Really burns my biscuits. I'm praying to God that the court system comes through for Rittenhouse and the election. I'm really tired of Democrats (and floppy Republicans) continually playing "just the tip." Nah, that's how you get molested.

Count Dankula can't be the only recent win of a justice system.

Julius Caesar reference. Google "The die is cast." Interesting historical analogy to Trump's current position.

Caesar, returning from his military conquest of Gaul, knew that if he relinquished his power, he would be endlessly harried in the courts and eventually killed. Rather than submit to that, he ordered his army into Italian peninsula (crossing the Rubicon river) which launched a civil war.

Trump faces the same choice. Leave office and submit to endless harassment and intrigue against himself and his family (not to mention the communist takeover of the USA) or attempt a radical solution.

'Crossing the Rubicon' refers to a river outside of Rome during its Republic days. Roman generals were required to disband their armies before crossing that river and entering Rome. Caesar didn't and marched into Rome with his army to overthrow its Senate.

Its become a term referring to a 'point of no return'. I fear we are fast, fast, approaching that Rubicon moment in our country.
