Ok, the Baptist in me..... churches are supposed to be for sinners, and BLM meets the criteria, so why shouldn't the church invite those poor schmucks in for some good old fashioned Hellfire and Brimstone...?

No pun intended, and yeah I understand, that is not a good old fashioned Southern Baptist church.

This makes no sense. Why would a righteous congregation support their sinful organizations? Answer: they're corrupted themselves. Burning that building to the ground is justice served

Er, what makes no sense?

If a congregation IS 'righteous' then it exists partly to bring the Word of Christ to sinners, churches are not built for 'righteous' people but for sinners, in the main sense. Yes churches should be a celebration of our Lord but they are there to receive sinners and offer them Salvation.

We are all sinners, too, so there's that. Welcoming sinners into your church is not supporting their sins, rather it is trying to Love the sinner while rejecting sin and helping the sinner to reject the sin.

Love the sinner, hate the sin.

It may be that Jesus did want that church burned, maybe they are/were sinful or had fallen from Grace. But I think Jesus would chase the sinners from the church rather than burn it.

That's just me, tho, Imma sure the Pope views things differently.
