Going to Disney World/Land does not have to cost $10,000, and no one said that you have to go there for a full week. Yes there are way smarter alternatives for your family to spend time together instead of supporting the Disney machine, but people being able to return to the World/Land is a positive sign for the US economy & for jobs reopening after the covid19 fiasco.
Even if you went a week, there's ways to do it on a budget.
Before I had the kid, once went with my husband and my brother. For the 3 of us, hotel and meal plan, for 5 days it was about $3k. And we didn't take a plane, we road tripped, so that extended the vacation to over a week. This was at a hotel that had direct monorail service into some parks.
The $10k expenses are if you get fancier hotel rooms that are aimed at rich European tourists.
Now, I remember renting a cabin would have only been about $1k for three, and if you wanted to camp out it's even cheaper. There's a lot of options to stay on-site.
Spending a week at disney absolutely would cost my family 10k$. Considering I live a day's drive from orlando, I find it impractical to spend less than a week on vacation there. We did find alternatives to giving disney our money and had a blast.
