I used to be able to go through stores freely with my chinderwear/face diaper/bacterial pneumonia generator below my nose. Today, I made the mistake of making eye contact with somebody at Target (usually one of the places where I know people don't care.) A male Karen seized the opportunity and called out, "Mask all the way up. It's the safe way." Then, as I ignored him and passed, "Think about it." I refrained from flipping him the bird. This is the second time this has happened to me recently.
I hate what this is doing to me. I hate what this is doing to society. It feels like enemies are around every corner, just waiting to pounce. I want to be friendly. I want to make someone else's day with a smile, even if it's a person whose politics I would disagree with if I knew what they were. But in order to breathe, I have to avoid even making eye contact. And if I want to breathe, I have to display on my face who I voted for.
We have to end this.
Some Oklahoma cities have mask mandates. I do not wear masks anywhere. I’ve had people give me looks but no one has set anything to me yet.
