I think these are violent protests. Can't be "peaceful protests" if nothing is on fire, can they? They haven't even broken any windows! How is that peaceful?
Peace is about the sanctity of human life. If you aren't looting, you can't get shot for looting, which means you can't go on TV and cry about property being less important than human lives. Any protest that doesn't contain looting, arson, and vandalism should not be called peaceful.
