thedonald.win is amazing but staying too long on here might not be good for your mental peace of mind. What are some reads that people would recommend? Fiction or non-fiction. Précis and discussion encouraged. Here's some to start.
- 1984 (or course)
- Brave New World (of course)
- Starship Troopers
- Ender's Game
- The Moon is a Harsh Mistress (heck, just insert all of Heinlein here).
- Fahrenheit 451
- Enemies Foreign and Domestic (trilogy)
- 1632
One of my favorite non-fiction to get people to at least read a couple of pieces out of is Forbidden Archeology- which is basically written like a text book just filled with archeological finds that don't fit in, and sometimes absolutely refute the agreed upon consensus of science and history.
I've won over a couple of "Believe The Science" like people with it. Also, it's thick af, so it also makes a good weapon for personal defense if nothing else is handy.
Sounds interesting. I'll give them a look. I enjoy reading about that kind of thing even if I look at it with a skeptical eye.
