The noise is just like capitalism. You have the noise (consumers) who will get louder (buy more) of your point of view (your product) if it meets the grade and passes peer review.

True, but I would add that filtering signal from noise is a job. One of the reason Amazon dominates online selling is that they offer a single source for multiple items.

Just picking each item from a separate site somewhere on the Internet is certainly more purely capitalist, but the overhead cost of managing that complexity is one that most people don’t want to pay, so Amazon succeeds.

(Edit: the “single source“ in this example would be a single source for efforts in one state)

Specialization exists because it provides higher returns.

Good point, although they created separate that wins for several other banished Reddit communities.

A lot of resources on here, volunteer developers, people ready to finance, and mostly all the people that could be mobilized.

Not saying it’s easy, or even possible, but it would be a hell of a force multiplier for resources that are just sitting unused.
