This is the most recent document on the EAC website about the Electoral College.

https://www.eac.gov/sites/default/files/eac_assets/1/28/The%20Electoral%20College%20(Jan.%202011).pdf

The next important date in the process applies only to States that have disputed election results. Recent experience shows that it is possible that there will be challenges or recounts in some States. If a State has a contested outcome, it must meet the “safe harbor” deadline15 of December 11, 2012, or risk having its disputed electoral votes decided by Congress. Meeting the safe harbor deadline guarantees to States that Congress will accept their election results. If an election dispute is not resolved by the State before the safe harbor deadline, Congress has discretion over the disposition over the State’s electoral votes.

Calm down, This is Good.

Plenty of people are. I keep seeing people say that Alito is compromised because of the date of the dispute.

Otherwise I would not have made this post.

Probably shills trying to stir the pot. It doesn't really matter, internet discussions aren't going to change the outcome of the SCOTUS decision.

Alito setting it to December 9th, avoids the laches argument for the defendant. They are given the adequate time period to resolve the dispute. If Alito wanted to sink it, he could have just not docketed it. That said, we have no idea what is in his mind in regards to this particular case which is against the PA SC not hearing the constitutionality of a law, with their reasoning itself being based on the laches trap.
