There is very little reason to invest in equities outside of the S&P 500 and growth focused mid-cap funds anymore. Forget the international markets. They're trash. Boring investor wisdom states that international exposure is important to a diversified portfolio and have outperformed U.S. equities over time. They never mention that this was pre-2000, and in the age of the Internet there is no "U.S. company." They're all global.
