Your dad sounds like a good father. I'd recommend leaving politics out of it between you if it's straining the relationship.

he is a good dad. but he's a lawyer, and he thrives on argument. but you are probably right...at this point, no point.

Yeah I'd agree on this - certain things in life we cannot change. Such as the dynamic of how a parent views their children. Especially a father who fancies themselves educated. You won't change his mind, only he can do that. Hammering / emotionally charging your points doubles down in his mind you are still the kid who he helped wipe his butt at one point.

The best I've seen done is wait for them to ask your opinion state it clearly and shut up. Only proceed if they ask more. Otherwise it is having the opposite effect sadly (as much as everyone wishes it wasn't the case).

why is it liberals don’t realize they have higher rates of mental illness because of their beliefs?

Are you perhaps putting the cart before the horse?

No, the saying is referring to someone who may have causality mixed up. In this case I'm asking if it's possible mentally ill people tend to gravitate towards liberalism rather than liberalism making people mentally ill.

Wow, lol, he should at least have known at the times that Trump had only filed 3 lawsuits. The rest were filed by other parties. I feel your pain, there’s no reasoning with the liberals in my family either. I have literally been told that the videos were made in Russia to look like US elections by Putin for Trump. Unless y’all are both openly discussing with good intentions try to avoid the topic, family is too important to cause a divide with someone as important as your father.

I looked up the definition of demagogue to be sure I understand. Please ask your dad what is wrong with putting American citizens first in America?
