Reminder: if you won't get off your fucking ass to use the 1st amendment, you're too much of a bitch to use the 2nd

Not necessarily. Some people don't like the spotlight. But exercising your 1st amendment boldly may prevent you from having to exercise your 2nd

Psychology implies otherwise. A lot of humans, strangely enough, seem unmovable until an extreme breaking point. They can't be assed to do all of the things that would prevent an extreme situation from arising in the first place, but when it does, boy they'll go to the mattresses then.

It's really counter-intuitive, but the basic premise is most people don't really consider all of the things going on as long as they have their own lives to live and still feel there is a sense of normalcy. Once you interrupt that, they fly off the handle.

Which unfortunately is why and how we are where we are now. Most people simply do not participate in their civic duties and aren't involved in politics or the charge of "vigilance" beyond just showing up to vote every 2-4 years.

It's something we need to stress going forward, that everyone needs to be involved at all levels, in some way. I've been politically active since the early 2000s, and it really isn't a burden. It can actually be rewarding and fun at times. It doesn't require shirking your duties to family or your job. But it does require at least a little time and effort. I think most people would be fine doing things if they had a clearer picture of how to get involved.

I can't argue with that. But, the very challenge we have is that everyone's 2-4 year "vigilance" is worthless because of defrauding fucktard commies.
